Bangladesh: Anti-communal conference on Dec 13


Fifteen eminent citizens convened the conference protesting recent attacks on the Buddhist, Ahmadiyya and Hindu communities.

Anti-communal conference rescheduled for Dec 13

The anti-communal conference, which was scheduled to be held on December 8 in the capital's at Mohanagar Natya Mancha, will be held on December 13 , said a press release.

Fifteen eminent citizens convened the conference protesting recent attacks on the Buddhist, Ahmadiyya and Hindu communities.


On November 7, 2012 religious bigots - allegedly with links to Jamaat-e-Islami - launched an attack on Ahmadiyya community in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur, which left 15 people injured.

They set fire to two houses and attacked a religious establishment of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at at Kismat Mena Nagar village in the upazila, local sources had reported at the time.
