An exhibition of the Holy Quran, which organizers say is meant to dispel misconceptions about Islam and educate people about the true and peaceful teachings of Islam, will be held at Milliken Mills Library next Saturday.

This exhibition is being sponsored by the Women’s Auxiliary (Markham chapter) of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, fast growing international revival movement in Islam, the auxiliary said in a media release.

It is a non-profit, charitable religious organization founded in 1889. It spans more than 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. There are 65 chapters in Canada.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community says it encourages open houses and exhibitions to educate and foster tolerance, understanding and knowledge of their religion.

“We hope you will join us in our efforts to further promote religious harmony in Ontario,” organizer Sadaf Malik said.

The library is at 7600 Kennedy Rd.

The Holy Quran Exhibition runs Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is no charge for the event. Complimentary refreshments and free henna designs will be offered to guests. Guests are encouraged to register online at www.islamevents.ca/register.
