ROTTERDAM - Ahmadiyya Muslims youth ask their neighborhoods to join in cleaning the area after new year eve fireworks.
Fireworks are a charm at the turn of the year, the Ahmadi Muslim youth say, yet there are certain not-so-nice aspect to the celebration; such as injuries from accidents, mountains of leftover waste including unused fireworks in the debris.
Many young children search the waste the next day to find unused fireworks and try to light those again and serious accidents happen every year.
If the waste is not properly disposed of, there is lot of litter around and moreover it is bad for our environment.
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: "Cleanliness is half of faith."
While half of Rotterdam will still be asleep the next morning after their drinking and intoxication on the New Year eve, a group of Muslims will out early to clean the streets.
