Germany: Hesse starts Denominational Islamic education
The DITIB national association and the Ahmadiyya Muslim community will give Islamic religious instruction in state schools in Hesse which are provided for 25 locations nationwide.

Wiesbaden (DAPD). The state of Hesse will start Denominational Islamic education from the next academic year 2013/14.
As the news agency DAPD learned from coalition parties, Culture Minister Nicola Beer and Integration Minister Jörg-Uwe Hahn (both FDP) want to announce the decision on Monday in Wiesbaden.
The DITIB national association and the Ahmadiyya Muslim community will give Islamic religious instruction in state schools in Hesse which are provided for 25 locations nationwide.
Both had made such applications in January 2011 .
After evaluation, the four experts commissioned by the state government concluded that both, Tärkisch Islamic Union DITIB Hesse and Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, meet the legal requirements.
In both cased applicants were religious communities within the meaning of the Basic Law.
