Guatemala is selected by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community as a center to spread Islam to the rest of Latin America, it was revealed during the program of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Convention which is held every year in the country.
The President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community of Guatemala, Abdul Sattar Khan, reported that there are followers of Islam in El Salvador, Panama, Bolivia and Ecuador, and that they have a small community in Colombia.
"The idea is to bring Islam to other countries", it was reported in a press conference.
The community held its annual Conventions tarting on Friday, November 29, until Sunday.
The first two days of the program were more about matters of faith for Muslims, and the last day includes matters of concerns for all.
