UK: 'Jihad Without Borders' seminar organized at Baitul Futuh


Filmmaker Kabir spoke about the film and pointed out that the film signifies the level of extremism that prevails in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The Bangla Department of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK organised a seminar where Shahriar Kabir, a Bangladeshi journalist, film maker and human rights activist spoke on the background of a  documentary film, 'Jihad without Border.'

Mohammad Abdul Hadi, Incharge of the Bangla Department, presided over the the proceedings of the seminar that took place on Sunday, December 2, at 6.00 pm. at Naser Hall in Baitul Futuh.

The general secretary of the organization, Bashir Ahmad Akhtar, welcomed the participants and expressed his thanks to the film maker for the documentary film show on Jihad. 

Filmmaker Kabir spoke about the documentary film and pointed out that the film signifies the level of extremism that prevails in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Mr Mohammad Abdul Hadi pointed out in his concluding remarks the consequences of jihad in the name of Islam and its effects in Bangladesh and Pakistan in form of growing extremism. 

After the film screening dinner was served and questions were put by the guests to Shahriar Kabir.          

The Book entitled Life of Mohammad was presented as a gift to the guests. 

About 170 attended the seminar and the film show. 

Among the attendees were media reporters from East London,  Bangladesh High Commission officials, staff members from Ethnic Minority Centre, President of Merton Pakistan Association, Member of Christian Association, human rights activist from Pakistan, Ms Samina Imtiaz, Ms Khushi Kabir, and various other visitors from different backgrounds.  

Mr Mansoor Ahmad, Secretary – Bangla Department UK conducted the entire program.
