A story that appeared on France-Guyane news website on February 6, 2013, was translated and cross-posted by Ahmadiyya Times. The editor of Ahmadiyya Times has received clarification towards the information reported in the original story. The original story, which was only about French-Guiana did not amply clarify this fact and left some readers confused as to the Ahmadiyya History in various territories historically referred to as Guyana. The calcification received from the Ahmadi Muslim Missionary, Abdur Rahman Khan, is published here-under for clarification.

There is a serious mistake in declaring that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at existed in GUYANA since 2007.
What needs to be clarified here, is that the region of GUIANA was under the control of the British, French and Dutch during the Colonial era.
What was once British Guiana became GUYANA In 1966.
In this GUYANA, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at has been established since 1960, the first missionary, the late Maulana Bashir Ahmad Orchard Sahib, hailing from Scotland, after him Maulana Meer Ghulam Ahmad Naseem Sahib, Maulana Fazl Ilahi Bashir Sahib, Late Maulana Muhammad Siddique Nangali Sahib, Late Maulana Muhammad Aslam Qureshi Sahib Shaheed, Late Maulana Haneef Yacoob Sahib of Trinidad, Maulana Abdur Rahman Khan from Guyana ( a son of the soil) Maulana Talib Yacoob Sahib from Trinidad, Maulana Abdur Rasheed Ahmad Agboola from Nigeria, Maulana Alhassan Bashir Anan Sahib from Ghana and Maulana Ahsanullah mangat Sahib who is the present Missionary in Charge.
The Dutch colony which was Dutch Guiana, is now Suriname and the Jama'at was established there since the 1960 and many missionaries who came from the International Headquarters, Rabwah, Pakistan, have served the Jama'at there diligently as well.
From this article, it seems as though there has been an Ahmadiyya Muslim presence in French Guyana, which is still a FRENCH COLONY, with Cayenne as its capital. We are extremely happy to welcome the presence of Maulana Siddique Ahmad Munawar Sahib, who was the Amir and Missionary in charge of Mauritius for a lengthy period of time.
We wish our brothers and sisters in FRENCH GUYANA Allah's choicest blessings, swift progress and prosperity is spreading the True Message of Islam through Ahmadiyyat, under the Divine Supreme Spiritual Leadership of Khilafat.

Abdur Rahman Khan
