For Ahmadi Muslims of Pakistan, the right to practice their religion individually, collectively with others, and in public or in private, it all remains severely restricted.
According to a recent persecution report published by the community, increasing opposition from government officials under the color of authority and hate propaganda by the anti Ahmadi extremists continue to result in violent attacks and several mosques belonging to Ahmadis have been forcibly closed.
Neither are investigated or prosecuted.
In the Ahmadiyya Ewan-e Tawheed mosque in Rawalpindi, where observance of Eid prayers was banned for Ahmadi Muslims last year, police officials have now permanently banned Friday prayers and the entry into the building for prayer during prayer time by Ahmadi Muslims.
In the town of Goleki near Gujrat in central Punjab, the community reports that at the heals of a successful 15-year legal battle to re-open a sealed Ahmadi Muslim Mosque, anti-Ahmadi extremists succeeded in initiating the unlawful arrests of many Ahmadi Muslims, including the President of the local Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
