Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Vestal Planning Board approved plans Tuesday for a Muslim community and worship center to be built in the coming year.
The two-story, 2,600-sqare-foot community center will be built on Sheedy Road.
The board made six amendments to the center's original plan, including changing the kind of plants that will be around the building.
Afzal Rehman, a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, hopes to have the center built before next winter.
Broome County is set to review the revised plans before it's officially approved.
The building is funded by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
