An RSO will sponsor a seminar March 7 at 5:30 p.m. in Giffels Auditorium in Old Main as part of a nationwide campaign.

Al-Islam Students Association is sponsoring the seminar with the help of the UA Multicultural Center, said Hameed Naseem, an organizer for the event.

“Such seminars present peaceful ways of countering bigotry and ignorance,” Naseem wrote in an email.

After the seminar, there will be a question-and-answer session and food by Petra Cafe, he wrote.

This event is part of the nationwide “Muhammad Messenger of Peace” campaign hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Seventy-three chapters are also having events as part of the campaign, according to a release.

“This event is an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to learn about Prophet Muhammad from practicing American Muslims,” according to a news release.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was started in 1889 and believes that “the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India,” according to a release.
