Humanity First USA will be holding the inaugural "Night for Sight" fundraising dinner and silent auction on Saturday, June 8, 2013, 7pm to 10pm at Hilton Lisle/Naperville, 3003 Corporate West Drive, Lisle, IL 60532. The event will be raising funds for the Humanity First USA banner program, Gift of Sight, and the general Humanity First USA fund.
The Gift of Sight program seeks to cure blindness by sending eye care teams abroad to help those in need by setting up eye camps for adults and children, teaching local health care professionals new techniques to treat eye diseases, and donating medications, eyeglasses and equipment. Medical and student volunteers have traveled to Guatemala for the past three years to perform cataract surgeries and full eye exams for free. Dr. Charles Bouchard, the John P. Mulcahy Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, will be speaking at the dinner to share his experiences from the 2012 Gift of Sight camp. The program will also include a screening of the Gift of Sight 2012 documentary and remarks from Gift of Sight Program Director Dr. Ahsan Khan and Humanity First USA Executive Director, Munum Naeem.
