TRAINERS will be brought in as fundraising racers take to a city park.
But while the Ahmadiaay Muslim Association Scotland (AMA) members are raising money for Yorkhill they are dedicating the run to murdered soldier Lee Rigby and will hold a minute's silence at the start of the evnt.
Yorkhill Children's Charity and the New Children's Hospital in Glasgow will benefit from money raised at a 5K fun run.
The AMA has already raised £17,000 for the charity through previous events.
Kirsten Sinclair, fundraising manager at Yorkhill Children's Charity, said: "We are extremely grateful to AMA for its continued support.
"It has donated a significant amount of money to the charity and we really enjoy working with them.
"We would like to encourage anyone who fancies a challenge, wants to have some fun and at the same time support a worthy cause to sign up today."
This year's run will take place on Sunday, at Kelvingrove Park.
Money raised will fund a family waiting area and play room at the New Children's Hospital, which is currently being built at the Southern General Hospital site.
AMA said its fun run is suitable for all fitness levels and ages, and families are encouraged to take part.
Sandra White, MSP for Glasgow Kelvin, helped launch this year's event.
She said: "I had great fun last year competing in the 5K and would encourage others to take part."
Ahmed Owusu-Konadu, Scotland President of AMA, added: "We are delighted to be able to continue to support Yorkhill Children's Charity.
"It gives us particular pleasure to be supporting a fantastic charity on our doorstep.
"Given recent events, this is also an opportunity for us as Muslims to show that true Muslims are passionate about protecting life and their communities and not harming it."
