The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of New Zealand held the Inaugural Exhibition of the Holy Qur’an in Auckland on Saturday, 24th August 2013 at the Glen Innes Community Hall.
According to a media release issued by the community, "the beautiful bounties of the Holy Qur’an" were presented in more than 45 major languages of the world.
The exhibition organizer, Mr. Sabhan Shah, national president of the Ahmadi Muslim elders association, Majlis Ansarullah, an auxiliary body of the larger Ahmadiyya Muslim community, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the event.
"This is a start of a series of similar exhibitions which will continue throughout the year, including the launch of the fully translated version of the Holy Qur’an in Te Reo Maori in October of this year," the release stated quoting Mr. Sabhan Shah.
A number of short seminars were held throughout the day to educate the visitors about the history of the Holy Book and Mr. Shafiq ur Rehman, national missionary in-charge of the community in New Zealand presented some the key messages of peace, compassion, and forgiveness which were revealed to the Holy Founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad in the Holy Quran.
“The Holy Qur’an was revealed for all mankind and therefore it becomes our responsibility to ensure that the message is conveyed to all races through all languages," said missionary Rehamn. "The community’s effort is never ending in having the word of Almighty God translated in many different languages and to ensure that people understand the true Islam.”
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, fast-growing international revival movement within Islam.
Founded in 1889 by Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) in Punjab, India, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spans 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions.
