An Ahmadi man was murdered because of his faith in Aurangi Town area of Karachi, Pakistan’s southern port city in the Sind province.
A non-Ahmadi friend of the victim attempted to go after the murderers but he too was shot and killed instantly, it was reported.
The incident took place about 11:30 am local time.
According to information detailed by Sadr Anjuman Ahmadiyya, the central administrative body of the Ahmadiyya community in Pakistan, victim Zahoor Ahmad Keyani, 46, of Mujahid Colony was in a meeting with his non-Ahmadi friend and neighbor, Nawar-ul Wahid outside of his house when two unknown men arrived on motorcycles and fired dozens of gunshots at Keyani.
Victim received 12 shots and died instantly at the scene, it is reported.
As the killers were fleeing the scene, according to the report, the victim’s non-Ahmadi friend, Nawar-ul Wahid, ran after the assailants and he too met with a barrage of bullets.
Wahid, who received 16 gunshots, also died instantly.
Victim Zahoor Keyani, a civil servant working for Pakistan Customs, is survived by his wife and 7 children.

The spokesperson of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Pakistan, Saleemud Din, expressed 'profound sadness' for the two senseless killings and demanded that Pakistani government provide equal protection for all its citizens.
Saleemud Din appreciated the bravery of Nawar-ul Wahid and hoped everyone in country would stand up for each other.
