Worshippers at Keighley’s Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque were urged to pray for all those affected by war as Remembrance Day approaches. Around 30 people attended the sermon, at Baitul Haleem mosque, on Friday.
The service was led by Mujeeb Rahman.
“He reminded members to not only pray for the victims of war but also for the soldiers and their families,” said Faheem Rahman, leader with Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association in Keighley.
He added that members of the youth association were again collecting for the Legion Poppy Appeal in London, for the fourth year running. They hope to raise over £20,000.
“Muslims are obliged to be loyal to the country in which they live,” said Faheem. “Honouring those who fought to defend and safeguard one’s country is an important principle.”
