UK: Quran Exhibition at University of Sheffield


Visitors included Christians, Athiests, Agnostics and Non-Ahmadi Muslims and some spent considerable amount of time viewing the exhibition and stayed to participate in subsequent discussions on Islam and Ahmadiyya.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) of Sheffield, in cooperation with Ahmadiyya Muslim Student Association (AMSA) of Sheffield held its 3rd Quran Exhibition at a prime location in student’s union of University of Sheffield on 27th of November.

The Exhibition took place from 10am to 3pm.

The aim of the exhibition, the organizers say, was to change the perception of the Western society about Islam and to educate that Islam teaches peace and harmony, not the violence and hatred the media generally portrays.

Two missionaries of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Quasir Mahmmod Malik, Imam of Sheffield mosque, and Sabahat Karim, Imam of Hudderslfield Mosque; along with Bilal Tahir, secretary interfaith outreach; AMYA Sheffield president, Shahzad Ahmad Athar; and Saeed Nazir, AMSA Sheffield president were on hand to engage and answer visitors' questions.


Visitors included Christians, Athiests, Agnostics and Non-Ahmadi Muslims and some spent considerable amount of time viewing the exhibition and stayed to participate in subsequent discussions on Islam and Ahmadiyya.

Several non-Ahmadi Muslims praised the work of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community for setting up the Quran Exibition and spreading a peaceful message of Islam.

Free copies of selected leaflets were distributed to a large number of visitors. Visitors showed appreciation by giving positive feedback.

Several visitors requested translations of the Holy Qur'an in their respective languages and Some also asked for details of any online Islamic courses, guidance for which was provided by Maulana Tahir Selby.
