Ghana: Two in trouble for robbing student of Ahmadiyya Senior High in Kumasi


The suspects in their caution statement admitted the offence and that they would soon be arraigned before court to answer for their crime.

Kumasi, April 28, GNA Two suspected robbers, who attacked and robbed a female student at the Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS) in Kumasi of her mobile phone are now in the firm grip of the law.

Ebenezer Appiah and Issah Mohammed committed the crime on April 14, at about 1945 hours.

The victim had received a call on her phone just in front of the schools Masters Flats, when the suspects together with two others, on the run, suddenly emerged, pulled a cutlass and ordered her to surrender the phone, which she did to save her life.

Police Chief Superintendent Charles Domanban, the Tafo-Pankrono Divisional Commander, told a media briefing that before the criminals could escape, the girl raised the alarm, attracting people in the neighbourhood, who managed to seize Appiah.

He was handed over to the Asokwa police and later led the officers to arrest Mohammed.

Their two other colleagues, whose names were only given as Mubarak, alias Anortaaya and Alhassan had gone into hiding.

He said the suspects in their caution statement admitted the offence and that they would soon be arraigned before court to answer for their crime.
