Ahmadiyya Muslim Association (AMA) Ride4Peace hopes to raise £100,000 for British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Humanity First

Cyclists were given a massive cheer as they set off from a Feltham mosque on the final leg of a gruelling 600-mile charity peace ride, on Saturday (7).

Waving off the group of 25 riders from the Baitul Wahid Mosque, on Raleigh Way, in Feltham, were local MPs Seema Malhotra and Mary Macleod along with members of the community.

The Ride4Peace pedal for charity from Glasgow to London took place over seven days, and was organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association (AMA) to mark its centenary year in Britain.

Rafiq Hayat, National President of the AMA UK said: “Our ride for peace will take us through the length of Britain and reflect our commitment to serving this country and humanity through our devotion to peace, loyalty, charity and tolerance.

"In pushing themselves to the very limit for charity, the cyclists are showing that the majority of Muslims in the UK cannot be defined by the actions of a minority of extremists.”

Cyclists hope to raise £100,000 in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Humanity First.

Paul Charge, BHF community fundraising manager, said: “Our heartfelt thanks to the Ahmadiyya Cycling Club members for getting in the saddle to help save lives.

"I know I can rely on the people to dig deep and sponsor the team so we can raise much-needed funds to fight for every heartbeat”.

Other charitable work from AMA in the borough includes giving chocolates to youngsters at West Middlesex Hospital
