A GROUP of youngsters raised £250 for Manorlands by taking part in a weekend collection at a Keighley supermarket.

The five children aged five to 11 were supervised by two adults, and received the money from generous shoppers at Morrisons on both days this weekend. The collection was part of an initiative arranged by the youth wing of Keighley's Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

Faheem Rahman, who was one of the supervisors, said: "We wanted to give the children an idea of the excellent work that Manorlands Hospice does, because some of them have grandparents who've been treated by Manorlands.

"The people of Keighley were really generous, and we were very happy with the total we were able to collect.

"We plan to do this again in future, as we want to help Manorlands as much as possible. Islam teaches us to support the country we live in, and to help those people who are doing great work."
