The World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and 5th Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has lamented the sorry-state of many Muslim nations around the world.
Speaking at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London, the Khalifa highlighted the examples of war-torn Palestine, Syria, Pakistan among others, where countless innocent people were being targeted and persecuted and called on Ahmadi Muslims around the world to pray for the peace and stability of the Muslim world.
“The situation in all these countries is going from bad to worse. Both the government and the opposition rebels have committed extreme cruelties. Children, elders and women are all being targeted. Innocent people are being arrested, starved and tortured. Muslims are perpetrating these cruelties on other Muslims and so are giving non-Muslims the opportunity to raise false accusations against Islam for the sake of either retaining power or gaining power, the government and opposition are both actively destroying the children of their nation.”
His Holiness prayed for the cruelty in in all parts of the world to end and for justice to prevail. “In Pakistan we also find that extreme cruelty is being inflicted upon members of the public and particularly against Ahmadi Muslims. People are being physically and mentally tortured. Other Pakistanis are also being trapped in this system of cruelty and it seems the intensity of these grave circumstances will continue to increase. There is a great need for prayers that all forms of extremism and terrorism must end.”
Speaking on the Jamaat’s achievements in the past one year, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad revealed that the Jamaat had completed the translation of the Holy Qur’an into the Maori language spoken in some parts of Australia. Consequently, the Jamaat has translated the entire Qur’an into 72 languages.
According to him, the progress of the Jamaat was due to Help of Allah as many people had been guided towards the truth of Islam. Over 33,000 Ahmadi Muslims attended Jalsa Salana UK and pledged allegiance to the Khalifa in a ceremony known as ‘Bai’at’ with over 550,000 Muslims and non-Muslims joining the Jamaat globally between 2013 and now. The world head stated this at the closing ceremony of the 48th Jalsa Salana UK Islamic conference at Oakland-Farm in Hampshire, UK During his report, His Holiness announced that the Jammat is now established in 206 countries of the world and that during the past year, Ahmadi Muslim communities had been established in Belize and Uruguay for the very first time.
During the Jalsa Salana, His Holiness also raised the flag of Ahmadiyyat Islam, while Rafiq Hayat, the National President of the United Kingdom’s Jamaat, raised the Union Jack. Millions of Ahmadi Muslims around the world took part in the ceremony watching the proceedings live on MTA International and Murhi International Television, MITV in Nigeria.
While delivering his weekly sermon and the inaugural address, he spoke about the true and pure character of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and urged Muslims to emulate the virtues of the Prophet. “The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a mercy for mankind and his mercy and compassion was not limited to Muslims but encompasses every person, in every place, in every time. Thus, the mission of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is to spread the mercy and compassion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad to the corners of the world.”
