Donations of school essentials will help children in Gambia and Burkina Faso
A group of kind-hearted Muslim women have ramped up their charity mission to help transform the lives of children in Africa.
Huddersfield’s Ahmadiyya Muslim ladies have been busy collecting items for the next trip to Gambia, where they will deliver hundreds of essential school items and resources to school’s built by the organisation, as well as store items for their new school in Burkina Faso.
Almondbury Community School are one of the biggest current donors, having already given thousands of books and stationery, tables, chairs, cupboards, desks and lockers.
Humanity first will distribute these items, with volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.
President of the ladies in the Ahmadiyya Muslim association, Khalida Maryam, said: “We are so grateful to the generosity of people. You only have to ask and people give with such kindness and love. I am so happy to be part of this project, which will provide much required resources for schools in Gambia”.
They will spend the next few months collecting more donations for their venture.
