Global charity Humanity First is hosting a “Meena Bazaar” fundraiser in Duluth on Saturday.
The event, held for women and children at Atlanta Events Hall, will raise money for the organization, which serves people around the world affected by natural disasters and works on projects related to health and education.
Meena Bazaars, also known as “Khush Ruz,” meaning “Day of Joy,” are large events with vendors selling a wide variety of items. The events have their roots in Southeast Asia and have traditionally been held exclusively for women.
Children under 10, however, are encouraged to attend the Duluth bazaar, which is taking place from noon to 6 p.m., at the center located at 3750 Venture Drive.
“I am excited about Humanity First Atlanta and …would like to encourage ladies to participate in this women’s only humanitarian fundraising event,” said Mahmooda Rehman, who serves as the local Humanity First ambassador. “We are motivated by love and compassion of mankind.”
Booths at the bazaar will offer Indian clothing, jewelry, makeovers, henna tattoos and food. Several gifts will also be raffled. There are no fees for attendance or parking.
