A CHARITY gearing up for its most challenging time of the year is celebrating a cash boost.
Huddersfield-based Majlis Ansarullah donated £500 to the Welcome Centre.
The Lord Street charity helps local people in crisis with basic essentials such as food, toiletries, warm clothing and bedding.
The Muslim charity met with representatives from the Welcome Centre and handed over their donation.
It is one of the subsidiary branches of the town’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Association and has over 30,000 members nationwide.
This year the charity is celebrating its centenary by arranging a number of events.
This included the annual National Charity Walk, which raised over £360,000.
Each year members aim to help at least 100 national and local charities.
