An Islamic group is holding an open house in Midland this Saturday to help dispel misconceptions about the religion in the wake of recent terrorist acts, such as the attack on Parliament Hill.
Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association will be at the Midland Public Library from noon to 4 p.m.
The goal is to educate people about Islam’s teachings, battle against Islamaphobia and show people Islam does not support or promote terrorism.
The open house is part of a campaign in 33 municipalities across Canada.
