India: Local Ahmadi Muslims of Pune thankful for Sindutai Sapkal's award


The International World Peace award was given to Mrs. Sakpal by the 5th Caliph, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masīh, at the 12th National Peace Symposium held Saturday evening in London.

The local Ahmadiyya Muslim community of Pune, India is thankful to their International Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat for awarding the Ahmadiyya Muslim Prize for the Advancement of Peace to the “Mother of Orphans,” Mrs. Sindhutai Sakpal who hails from Pune, a populous city in the state of Maharashtra.

The International World Peace award was given to Mrs. Sakpal by the 5th Caliph, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masīh, at the 12th National Peace Symposium held Saturday evening in London.

Tahir Ahmad Arif, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Pune said via a telephone interview that the community is very thankful to International Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat who has decided to give Peace Award to Sindhutai Sakpal.

Arif said it’s an honor for the Pune Jamaat whose local citizen is recognized with such big honour.

He told that Sindhutai Sapkal has nurtured thousands of orphaned children and she has been honoured with more than 500 awards.
