I have a message for Muslims everywhere: it is time you accept the Caliphate. Before you object, before you let the vitriol and misunderstandings of the Caliphate make you stop reading, first consider my story.
I grew up in a majority Muslim country in North Africa. The Arab Spring erupted during my formative years as a young teenager. This was an exciting but tumultuous time that ran parallel with my own personal development.
I experienced the personal angst, frustration, and crisis that was taking hold of millions of us Muslim and Arab youth. Political and economic inequality, an overall social identity crisis, and religious frustration all fueled the tension. Something had to give. As religion began to further dominate the conversation, I was drawn to further engage in and study Islam. But I didn’t want just any Islam — I wanted Islam at its core, its original and unadulterated teachings.
My study of Islam only made me more cognizant of the struggles and inequities of the Muslim world. The corruption of our unjust governments and dictatorships left me discouraged and dismayed. Such failed leadership did a disservice both to the Muslim people and to the very religion of Islam itself.
I knew we needed a solution.
The Caliphate: Fulfilling Prophet Muhammad’s prophecy
As I continued my study, I soon learned something remarkable — 1,400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad had prophesized Islam’s deterioration. He foretold of a time when Muslims would be devoid of guidance, when we would be defenseless, when corruption would spread over the entire Ummah. With all the troubles and despair in the Muslim world, I had no doubt this was the era Prophet Muhammad foretold
However, just as Islam teaches that for every illness there is a cure, Prophet Muhammad also foretold of the cure for the ill Ummah.
Prophet Muhammad spoke of the re-establishment of the Caliphate. This Caliphate would join together Muslims from all over the world — from all origins, nations, and ethnicities. This Caliphate would be the ultimate defense of Islam against all opposition, and under its authority Islam would prevail.
You can imagine my elation, humility, and gratitude when I heard that such a Caliphate was re-established and Prophet Muhammad’s prophecy was fulfilled. I learned the Caliphate attracted Arabs and non-Arabs, Europeans and Africans, Americans and Asians, Russians and Indonesians. Muslims worldwide were flocking and migrating to pledge allegiance to this one man: the Khalifa of Islam. Not only did I now have more proof of Prophet Muhammad’s truthfulness, but also the fulfilled prophecy was the solution to revive Islam and reunite the Ummah.
But just as quickly as I was elated, I was devastated at the overall reaction of the Muslim world to the Caliphate. While righteous souls worldwide were joining this Caliphate in defense of Islam and to wage Jihad in the way of Allah, those souls faced intense persecution from other Muslims.
They were wronged and violently opposed. They were being jailed and deemed heretics — cast outside the fold of Islam. Muslim-majority governments violently opposed the Caliphate and Muslims who joined the Caliphate. I soon realized it was no surprise that the same corrupt Muslim-majority governments that were destroying the Ummah were now trying to prevent the Ummah from joining the Caliphate that would revive Islam, remove corruption, and strengthen the Ummah once more.
In merely investigating the Caliphate, I began to face opposition. I was branded a liar, a heretic, ignorant of Islam. I was told my actions were not representative of Islam. Despite all this, I persevered. After constant prayer and reflection over Prophet Muhammad’s guidance, I saw the truth of this Caliphate he foretold.
With all this weighing on my soul and with sound body and mind I joined countless other Muslims worldwide and wholeheartedly pledged my allegiance to the Khalifa of Islam.
That intense frustration and pain I felt during and after the Arab Spring finally began to subside. I felt at home. I felt armed with the information to understand my faith and defend it against detractors.
But my story doesn’t end here. Here is where it really begins.
The Caliphate: Defeating terrorism and reviving Islam
My Muslim brothers and sisters, the Khalifa of Islam is the solution for all the problems that the Muslim world faces. Muslims desperately seek unity, and this true Caliphate is the epitome of genuine unity. I beseech you to pray, reflect, study, research, and see why countless Muslims worldwide of all races and nationalities are joining the Khalifa of Islam as foretold by Prophet Muhammad.
No one but God will help you in this journey. Governments will oppose you. People will oppose you. Do not allow this opposition to blind you. One may wonder why I am making such an appeal in favor of the Islamic Caliphate. The answer is simple: the media is focusing not on the Islamic Caliphate but on this terrorist group plastered worldwide on front pages.
My fellow Muslims, forget ISIS and their terrorist leader. Forget these terrorists that promulgate hate, cruelty, and barbarity.
I am inviting you instead to the true Caliphate and the real solution to our problems. I am inviting you to study and look at the example of His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the leader of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Khalifa of Islam. I invite Muslims to this Divine Caliphate of love, harmony, peace, and understanding. This Caliphate with the motto of “Love for All, Hatred for None” promotes education and justice and condemns barbarity and terror.
Despite facing intense persecution, this true Caliphate has marched on in peace and prosperity for over 125 years. Do not be deterred by failed governments and failed Muslim leaders who have failed the Ummah. It is a long tradition in religious history that truthful communities are at first persecuted, denied, and opposed. The Holy Quran declares this, as do the pages of history.
The early history of Divine communities is replete with opposition and persecution. Thus, there emerged no doubt in my mind that any government or worldly power could limit or weaken the Caliphate. Despite all the strong and violent opposition, I tell you without doubt that this is the Caliphate promised by God, and it is the duty of every Muslim to investigate it no matter what the naysayers declare.
This is the Caliphate that was my solution as a frustrated Muslim youth. While some thousands of ignorant and confused people have joined that terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, tens of millions of Muslims from over 206 countries have joined together in a spirit of love and unity by pledging allegiance to the true Khalifa of Islam, Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
It is this Caliphate that has enabled me to stand shoulder to shoulder with brothers and sisters from every nation and every ethnicity on earth. It is this Caliphate that loves the Qur’an so dearly it has translated it into more languages than all other Muslim leaders combined. It is this Caliphate that relies solely on Allah for financial means, and refuses to take even one penny from any government or non-Muslim on earth.
I beseech you all to defeat ISIS, defeat all terrorism, revive Islam, and revive the Ummah by studying the real Caliphate. Learn the real and beautiful meaning of Jihad in the way of Allah. Forget the concocted Jihad of suicide vests and loss of innocent life. Let not your frustration and anger with failed Muslim leaders or the “West” drive you further away in the direction of hate and terror.
Pray to God and study the true Khalifa of Islam. Only then was I, and will you, be able to come to the realization of our greater humanity and overcome any notion of happiness being achieved through terrorism, cruelty, or warfare within Islam.
Do not join ISIS. Do not join such barbarians where you wake up with hatred of humanity and go to sleep wishing death on others. Instead, pray to God, study Prophet Muhammad’s wisdom and the core of Islam, and join the Caliphate of Islam Ahmadiyya. While once angry and frustrated, I now wake up with “love for all” and go to sleep with “hatred for none.” This is the true Islamic Caliphate to unite the Ummah.
This, my fellow Muslims, is my message to you.
