Children from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community also read out a poem in the square about peace, and there was African and Asian drumming by members of DNH. The day ended with a song for peace, led by Shakti Sings Choir, at the Sikh temple.

Organiser Mary-Ellen Archer, who is the ex-chairman of DNH, said she was delighted by the turnout. She has invited children from across the borough to submit stories, songs, poems and artwork inspired by peace to feature in another event this September.
