Croydon youths from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) organize a homeless feeding session every Sunday, where they help Croydon Nightwatch, a local charity organization providing support for homeless people and others in need.

Every week the AMYA provides 5-15 volunteers and every alternative week they provide food and water for 90-plus people, says Adeel Shah, a member of the Ahmadiyya youth group. "We meet at 8pm on Sunday at their HQ and pack the food and goods which have been donated by others and then drive to the designated location where everyone gathers and the food is distributed."

The AMYA youth group in Croydon is lead by their local president, Tashfeen Zafar, who, in addition to making the youth volunteers available for the homeless feeding sessions, personally takes part in providing services.

The youth workers from Croydon Nightwatch charity have been impressed by the AMYA member's work and they show interest in other activities carried out by the AMYA members, says Shah.

"We have actively involved them [Croydon Nightwatch charity volunteers] in our community functions too," said Shah."They have been attending our peace symposiums and other community events."

"And, [they] will be coming to our annual charity walk too," Shah added.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) is a nationwide youth group that works with young Muslim men and boys around the country. The association serves as the young men and boys auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
