There is no success without knowing the meaning of the Holy Quran. Reading, understanding and then following the teachings will bring real success and salvation -- Imam Shamshad Nasir
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's regional missionary, Imam Shamshad Nasir of Baitul Jammay Mosque, was invited to the Sierra Leonean Muslim Community of Chicago North side at the house of the Chief Imam of the Muslim community of Sierra Leone, Sheikh Mohamed Kallon.
As a friend of the community, Imam Shamshad was asked to partake in their community gathering --which they hold regularly -- and invited to speak about the Holy Quran.
Imam Shamshad addressed the community and directed their attention to the blessings of reading the Holy Quran. Imam said that merely reading the Quran without understanding its meaning would not bring its proper benefits. He stressed the importance of knowing the meaning and keeping it in mind during the recitation of the Holy Quran.
Imam Shamshad brought along also many copies of the Holy Quran with English translation to distribute to the members of Sierra Leone Muslim and Christian communities after the Sierra Leone Muslim Community had mentioned to Imam Shamshad that they did not have enough copies of Holy Quran to distribute to each household as they wished.
Imam Shamshad provided them with copies of Holy Quran on behalf of Ahmadiyya Mission USA and a total of 41 copies of Holy Quran with English translation by Hazrat Maulvi Sher Ali (RA) were distributed that day.
After expressing their gratitude for the copies of the Holy Quran, the ceremony came to an end with a silent prayer.
