The Ameer (Head) and Missionary - In -Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Alhaji Maulvi Noor Mohammed Bin Salih, has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene , Otumfuo Osei Tutu II , at Manhyia Palace , Kumasi.
Explaining the visit , Alhaji Maulvi Noor Mohammed Bin Salih told Otumfuo that he was at the Manhyia Palace to introduce himself as the new Ameer (Head) and Missionary - In -Charge appointed by the World -Wide Spiritual Head of the Mission following the death of Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam.
He added that he was also at the Palace to convey the Mission's appreciation and gratitude to Otumfuo and Asanteman for the invaluable support given to the Mission during the burial Service for the late Ameer, Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam. Otumfuo sent a delegation to the funeral in Accra.
He also said he was at the Manhyia Palace to appeal for Otumfuo's support to enable him to discharge the heavy duty imposed on him as the new Head of the Mission in Ghana.
He said he was making the appeal because, apart from the heaviness of the duty imposed by his appointment, his immediate predecessor, Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam, had left behind shoes that were too big to be filled by him.
He was, however, hopeful of the ready support of the 'lieutenants' left behind by Maulvi Adam. Maulvi Bin Salih praised Otumfuo for his contribution to the progress of the country, particularly his educational initiatives.
He added that, in support of those initiatives, the Mission was establishing a Nursing Training College at Kokofu in addition to educational institutions and medical facilities already established by the Mission over the years Maulvi Bin Salih, had earlier led the meeting in Prayer.
Otumfuo Asantehene graciously praised the Mission for its contributions to the progress of Ashanti and Ghana.
He said the mission was dear to his heart. He also praised the late Ameer (Head) and Missionary - In -Charge, Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam, for his wisdom, readiness to listen to advice, and his immense contribution to the Mission Ashanti Region, and the country as a whole.
Otumfuo said that he had no doubt that Maulvi Bin Salih would be able to fill the shoes left behind by Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam.
Otumfuo advised Maulvi Bin Salih to always remember Allah and rely on Him (Allah) for support. He further advised him not to discriminate against any member of the Mission on any grounds but rather bring them all together.
Otumfuo also assured Maulvi Bin Salih of his (Otumfuo's) support at all times. He said he was welcome to Manhyia Palace anytime and shook hands with those who accompanied the Ameer, a privilege not normally extended to everyone who calls on him.
The following members accompanied the Ameer to the Manhyia Palace: Maulvi Naeem A. Cheema, Special Assistant to the Ameer, Alhaji Abdur Rahman Ennin, General Affairs Secretary, Alhaj Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim, Foreign Affairs Secretary, Alhaj Mohammed Yusuf Twumasi, Secretary, Mal (Finance) and Mr. Yusuf Abu - Wubey, Auditor.
Others were Mr. Abdul Noor Wahab, Sadr, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Mr. Nurudeen Adum Atta, Former Deputy Ameer; Mr. I.K Gyasu, Former Headmaster, T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School, Kumasi, Maulvi Abdul Hameed Tahir, Ashanti Regional Missionary Mr. Hakeem Baidoo, Ashanti Regional President; Lawyer Mujeeb and Lawyer Annis.
