The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Glen Ellyn chapter expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the barbaric terror attack yesterday on the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. The terror attack left nine dead. From God we are and to God must we return.
"Quran condemns killing as it is mentioned in the Holy Quran that killing a person is like killing the whole humanity: and if anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole humanity." said Imam Shamshad A. Nasir, Missionary In charge of Midwest region of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, "I strongly condemn this barbaric act and express condolences to the families of the victims."
"I pray for the departed that may God be with them always," Imam Shamshad added.
For Muslims the holy month of Ramadan began today-a time of fasting, prayer, contemplation, and service to humanity.
"As such," the Imam said, "we increase our prayers and supplications for the victims of this horrible crime, and pray God engulfs them with His strength and Grace."
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans 206 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions.
