Imam Shamshad gave an example that just as when a doctor prescribes medication, if the sick patient doesn't take it, the patient stays sick.

Imam  Shamshad Ahmad Nasir of Glen Ellyn, IL's Masjid Baet-ul-Jaamay and members of his interfaith outreach team were at Unity Church of Oak Park on July 22, 2015 where the Muslim group presented the basics of Islam for the benefit of the Church congregants.

Saiyed Kaashif A. Qaderi, local director of interfaith outreach for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Chicago SW, and  Michael Korpan and John O'Rourke of Unity Church of Oak Park, worked together to arrange this meeting and the presentation on the Introduction of Islam by the Muslim leaders.

Qadri opened the program with an introduction to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and spoke about how their auxiliary youth organization is taking steps to condemn extremist groups such as ISIS through the community's StopTheCrISIS initiative and highlighted events such as blood drives, homeless feedings.

Qadri introduced the keynote speaker Imam Shamshad of Baitul Jammey of Glen Ellyn Chicago and invited him to talk on Islam, the Founder of Islam and his teachings.

Imam Shamshad covered the basics of Islam starting with the "5 pillars of Islam" and gave a detailed account of each pillar. He also explained the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, it founder Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the system of Khilafat and how Ahmadi Muslims are benefiting from it.

There was discussion as to why certain Muslims are causing problems. Imam Shamshad gave an example that just as when a doctor prescribes medication, if the sick patient doesn't take it, the patient stays sick. The same can be said for the Islamic world who hasn't accepted the Messiah of the age, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad --who is the spiritual Doctor from God to cure and heal all spiritually and morally sick people.

Imam Shamshad Nasir condemned the terrorist acts which are taking place in the world and said. "Islam means peace and Islam does not allow to shed blood of any person at all."

Imam also pointed out how the Bible discusses that Jesus is only a man and not a God. "God is one and has no partner," he said. The church members appeared to understand and also appreciated the way Imam explained it.

The question/answer session was lively and the entire program ran for about 90 minutes.

One member of the church said he was looking for an Islamic group that preaches peace and would like to attend the Ahmadiyya congregation in Glen Ellyn, IL.

Imam presented a Holy Qu'ran to Mr. John O'Rourke and the congregation posed for a picture with the visitors.
