The rise of global terrorist organizations will be among the hot topics at this weekend’s annual convention of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada.

The 39th annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Jama’at is taking place Aug. 28 to 30 at the International Centre in Mississauga.

The three-day event is expected to attract thousands of people from Canada, the US and other parts of the world.

Its goal is to enable the participants to experience and understand religious benefits and promote mutual understanding. It’s also aimed at strengthening ties within the community.

The event will include special exhibitions and discuss a variety of topics such as rise of global terrorist organizations, freedom of speech and roadmap to true world peace.

The program will also include the presentation of the fourth annual Sir Zafrulla Khan Award for Distinguished Public Service.

The convention opens today. However, the main events take place on Saturday at 4 p.m.
