The Sinhala Translation with Arabic Text of the Holy Qur’an was presented to Most Venerable Galagama Sri Aththadassi Mahanayake Thero - Asgiriya Chapter by Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at – Sri Lanka.
A delegation comprising Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad – Chief Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Sri Lanka (AMJSL), Mr. A. Abdul Aziz, Director Faith Outreach, Mr. Shareef Ahmad, Director External Affairs, and Moulavi K.M. Munir Ahmad, Imam at Pasyala (Sri Lanka).
The delegation met Buddhist clergy at his temple in Kandy on 29 October 2015.
Venerable Thero said, I will read the Qur’an and tell others what Islam says. He also very much pleased to know the Qur;an, translated by the Ahmadiyya Community is in very simple language so that anyone would be able to understand it well.
During the visit, the Sinhala Translation with Arabic Text of the Holy Qur’an was also presented to Most Venerable Tibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thero- Malwatta Chapter at his temple in Kandy.
The top Buddhist clerics very respectfully accepted this Holy Book as it is translated in their own language, in a simple manner.
Peace Messages in Sinhala as well as in English were also presented.
These Venerable clergies were also presented the Sinhala translation of the Teachings of Islam – a book written by Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, peace be on him, - a Reformer - an awaited one - by all Major Religions of the world.
This is the first ever opportunity to meet these Buddhist Top Clergies by the Jama’at.
Kandy is a town which is considered a capital of Hill Country, Sri Lanka. Buddhist community is the thick population. Famous Buddhist Shrine ‘Dalada Maligava’, an attraction of tourists, is situated in Kandy.
