As the blood spilt and stained the land,
women became widows, sisters lost brothers,
and stray babies painfully cried "Mummy".

Once upon a time,
in a cold, brutal, bitter, world
lived innocent people, much like you and me.
They woke up every day,
to the endless sounds of guns and bombs,
wishing for the day they could finally be free.
Parents protected their babies
with every fibre of their beings,
contemplating every moment whether it was safer to flee.
But was there any point in considering escaping,
when the outcome was already clear:
being shoved from country to country?
The conditions were bad,
hope was a distant dream,
and dead bodies kept on piling and piling on the debris.
Now on one particular day,
-a horrible dark grim day
a change occurred which they did not foresee.
The forces of the west
voted to send airstrikes to bomb them down,
through their "democracy".
The magical kingdom- their beloved homes,
because of the powerful people, would no longer be.
As the blood spilt and stained the land,
women became widows, sisters lost brothers,
and stray babies painfully cried "Mummy".
The long and testing days went by,
the people who were momentarily still alive,
survived on scraps of food and mere blinks of sleep.
They were a target;
in danger wherever they went,
helpless and shattered they searched for humanity.
There was none.
bomb on bomb, fire on fire,
when had violence ever made anyone agree?
For every innocent life that was lost,
deep despair and sorrow hit the rest of the kingdoms:
all that they could do for the other people was to plea.
They acknowledged their most powerful weapon to win.
It was endless prayers and their trust in the Creator;
the power of standing together in unity.
Assured that the innocent people will live happily in the hereafter,
rewarded for their patience and struggles
in the form of the highest sanctity.
