The issue of radicalized Islam has been in the spotlight in light of the attack in California, as well as one last month in Paris that ISIL claimed responsibility for.

Georgia Muslims will gather in Norcross Saturday afternoon to pray for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in San Bernardino and have an interactive discussion on Islamic teachings.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Georgia Chapter is organizing the vigil, which will take place at 4 p.m. at Baitul Ata Mosque, 1800 Willow Trail Parkway in Norcross. The discussion set to follow the vigil will focus on “True Teaching of Islam on Jihad and Loyalty to ones’ Country,” according to the group.
“The Muslim community strongly condemns the terrorist attacks and works to promote the sanctity of life, a teaching inherent in all religious traditions,” Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Georgia Chapter representative S. Ahmad said in an email.
The issue of radicalized Islam has been in the spotlight in light of the attack in California, as well as one last month in Paris that ISIL claimed responsibility for.
More than a dozen people died in the San Bernardino attack that was launched by two Muslims. President Barack Obama called it an act of terrorism in a televised address to the nation last weekend, but stopped short of tying the attackers to overseas groups and urged Americans to not paint all Muslims as having radicalized beliefs.
“But it is clear that the two of them had gone down the dark path of radicalization, embracing a perverted interpretation of Islam that calls for war against America and the West,” Obama said in his address. “They had stockpiled assault weapons, ammunition, and pipe bombs. So this was an act of terrorism, designed to kill innocent people.”
