USA: Campaign is on -- What is true Islam?

That topic drew about 200 women Sunday to the Baitul Ikram Mosque in Allen.

Members of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community presented the interfaith event to explain their faith and dispel misconceptions.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a fast-growing reformist Islamic movement. Founded in 1889, it spans 207 countries.

The program included a talk by Ismat Mahmood, who discussed Islamic opposition to extremism and explained that the religion rejects all forms of terrorism.

More interfaith events are planned, and the mosque will soon expand with a new building.
