Some U.S. politicians are embracing rhetoric that fuels the rise of extremist groups.
The so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, better known as ISIS, is an extremist militant group that is actively distorting the peaceful teachings of Islam. Unfortunately, some U.S. politicians are helping ISIS achieve its agenda of creating problems between Islam and the West by embracing rhetoric that fuels the rise of extremist groups.
It is a mentality that the media perpetuates as well, and extremist groups use these opportunities as a method of recruiting militants. The Muslim Writers Guild of America, an auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, has produced more than 1,700 pieces in English media over the last decade on the subject of how terrorist organizations can be defeated.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association USA also holds anti-terrorism seminars and Holy Qur'an Exhibitions across the nation to promote the true teachings of Islam and explain what the religion really stands for to the American public as well as to the nation's Muslim population.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA also has launched a similar initiative called True Islam to remove the distorted image of Islam from society and to dismantle the false perceptions people have of the religion.
We can together, as one community, defeat ISIS and other extremist groups that may arise.
