The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Georgia is holding a free event, “Coffee, Cake & Islam,” to help people learn more about the faith.
There will be a discussion about Islam and a question and answer session. The event will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Baitul Ata Mosque, 1800 Willow Trail Parkway in Norcross.
The purpose of the program, which is part of a national campaign, is to help non-Muslims understand more about Islam. “The intention is to not only demystify people’s misconceptions, but also to build strong relationships with our neighbours in our shared commitment to peace-building,” said Kaleem Bhatti, secretary for public education for the Georgia Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Just days ago an imam and his assistant were shot and killed in New York. Police arrested a suspect but say they have no proof that it was a hate crime.
