On Saturday evening of December 17th 2016, Imam Mohammed Zafarullah along with 20 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Organization of South California, attended an Interfaith Prayer Meeting, hosted by the Compassionate Services Society.

The program entitled, “Tea meditation and Praying for World Peace” was held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach California and attended by 800 participants and guests from several parts of the USA as well as from other countries including Canada, Europe, Nepal, Tibet, Sri Lanka, Japan, China and Bangladesh.

The program was introduced by a young member of Compassionate Services Society who explained the program format explaining some of their beliefs and practices. A ceremonial Tea Meditation was then observed with participation by all guests and Tea Servers.

Venerable Hang Truong, Founder, then introduced the first Speaker, Imam Mohammed Zafarullah, with kind words for him and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, citing that a lot of their beliefs were in line with their beliefs in compassion, tolerance, love and a quest for peace. As this was a prayer meeting, Imam Zafarullah kept his address to prayers taken mainly from the Holy Qur’an. He recited the first Chapter of the Holy Qur’an as well as some additional short prayers for peace and God’s help.

Addressing the audience he said, “First of all, I would like to thank Almighty God for enabling me to stand here before you for this service. I am truly humbled in joining you, as we pray to God, the One Who created all that exists”. He continued, “We are all His children and He is our Lord, Sustainer, Provider and Protector. Muslims believe that God sent Messengers throughout the ages, to all people whenever humanity needed guidance. We believe in truth as revealed to and taught by Buddha, Moses, Jesus, Confucius, Zoroaster and Muhammad as well as all other prophets of God.”

Imam Zafarullah emphasized that Ahmadi Muslims adore and worship God and spend their lives in espousing love and discouraging evil through their motto of “Love for all; hatred for none”.

He concluded by praying for guidance, asking God to bless and enrich the lives of all human beings so that we all live in peace and harmony amongst all mankind.

Prayers from several other representatives from various sects of Buddhism and other religion followed after which Venerable Hang Truong moved a vote of thanks for all the participants and guests.
