Pakistan: 4 blasphemy accused remanded into police custody for 'further investigation'


After hearing the arguments at large, the court extended the physical remand of the accused until April 17, and adjourned the case.

An Anti Terrorism Court Friday granted further 10-day physical remand of four accused allegedly involved in uploading sacrilegious material on social media.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) produced the three accused in the court of Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi along with one more accused.

Comprehensive security arrangements were made on the occasion. The court directed for medical examination of one accused who was produced first time in the court.

During proceeding, the FIA prayed the court to grant further physical remand of the all four accused for further investigation.

After hearing the arguments at large, the court extended the physical remand of the accused until April 17, and adjourned the case.
