“Students need to study hard and listen to their parents”

Krishneel Aquila Nair of Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary School in Narere was stunned when he was announced the school’s 2017 dux during their prize giving ceremony yesterday.

The 13-year-old said his inspiration had always been his parents who always encouraged him to study hard.

Krishneel hopes to be an aircraft engineer but at the moment his focus is on his high school education.

He said he had two high school options: Rishikul Sanatan College and or Dayanand Anglo–Vedic College (DAV) however this would be decided by his parents.

He said his dad always stood by him during his studies advising him to always pay attention in class.

Student of the year

The young lass hopes to begin her high school education at Adi Cakobau High School next year.

She said it was not new for her to receive an award in school as she had been receiving awards in the past.

“But for overall student of the year, I am honoured,” Adi Laisani said.
