Leaders and members of the diverse faith traditions evident in our community will gather at 7 p.m. [on Monday, Nov. 20] for the eighth annual Interfaith Festival of Gratitude at the theater at 100 High Ave. Pastor Tom Willadsen of First Presbyterian Church, who organized the original interfaith festival, calls it "the largest event of its kind in Wisconsin." It may very well be.

The theme this year is "Welcome Home." Representatives from many different faith communities will share thoughts about how their faith traditions offer hospitality to other people.
...
For the second year in a row, the festival will be preceded by a 5 p.m. potluck dinner, open to all, at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque, 300 N. Eagle St. (across from Oshkosh West High School). People are encouraged to bring a dish to share that is special to their faith or ethnic group. Guests are asked not to bring dishes that contain pork or alcohol. Plates, utensils and beverages will be provided.

Last year there was such an overwhelming array of different foods to sample at the potluck that it was difficult to choose. And yes, you're welcome to go back for seconds! After the potluck, everyone attending is encouraged to drive downtown for the Interfaith Festival of Gratitude.

For more information about the potluck, contact Khurran Ahmed at 920-385-9457 or at khurram.f.ahmad@ahmadiyya.us. Visit the festival's Facebook events page at Interfaith Festival of Gratitude. For more information about the Day By Day Warming Shelter visit warmingshelter.com/

If your faith community would like to participate in the festival contact Willadsen at 920-235-6180 or at pastor@oshkoshpresbyterians.org.
