The Women’s Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Georgia chapter, hosted a Holy Qur’an Exhibition at Suwanee Library on Saturday, December 2nd, in an effort to educate Americans about the teachings of Islam.

The event started with the recitation of Holy Qur’an followed by an informative presentation about the language and history of the Qur’an including names of the prophets, books and angels mentioned in the Holy Book.

First revelation, preservation, and miracles of the Qur’an were also covered along with the status of women in Islam.  It was also shared with the audience that in July, 2015 researchers found fragments of the Qur’an to be among the oldest in the world (held at UK's Birmingham University).

Many visitors were surprised to learn that fourteen centuries ago the Qur’an contained prophesies and teachings pertaining to modern topics such as, climate change, structures of atom, cloud formation, and Egyptian faith and Pharaohs which have started to come to light only about one hundrad years ago.

The guests were then taken to the area where Qur’an in different languages were displayed. The audience was made aware that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has translated the Qur’an into 76 major languages of the world.  Other items on display included paintings of Arabic calligraphy highlighting the beautiful verses of the Qur’an.

There were a lot of questions from the audience.

One of the guests wanted to know the difference between Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the othe sects of Islam.  The Outreach Secretary of the auxiliary replied that the Ahmadi Muslim believe in Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian as the Messiah whose advent was foretold in the Holy Qur’an and by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him).

"Everything was well put together."

Mrs. Shareefa, a guest said, “The event was very nice and informative. InshaAllah (God willing) it would be great to go into more detail into the meaning of Qur’an and the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be on him). Everything was well put together.”

Another guest, Mrs. Edrye remarked, “Great opportunity to learn! Maybe a member of the press could visit this presentation.”

At the conclusion of the event, the attendees intermingled while partaking of light refreshments. "The visitors were able to discover an unlimited treasure of insight, eternal truth, and wisdom of the Holy Qur’an," said the event organizers.

The organizers hope that such exhibitions will keep on spreading the word of Islam all over the world.
