Pope Francis, during his first general audience of the year, told Christians the world over that they must confess their own sins and not those of others.
"It's difficult to admit being guilty, but it does so much good to confess with sincerity. But you must confess your own sins," the pope said according to Junno Arocho Esteves of the Catholic News Service.
While wishing the faithful hope and peace for the new year, Pontiff warned that "presumptuous" people will not have forgiveness because they do not ask for it in a humble way.
