On March 7, Concord-Carlisle Adult & Community Education, in partnership with Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Concord-Carlisle Human Rights Council and First Parish in Concord, presented “True Islam: Understanding our Community.”

Concord resident Nasir Rana and members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community hosted 30 local residents, including Concord Chief of Police Joseph O’Connor, for “True Islam,” what it is and how to counter ignorance about the world’s second-largest religion. The group was joined by Imam Salman Tariq and members of the Muslim Community for breakfast and a discussion.

The “True Islam and the Extremists” campaign seeks to spread Islam’s message of peace. Extremists like ISIS depend on people’s ignorance of Islam in order to grow; the more people know about Islam’s true teachings, the less they’ll fall for ISIS’s propaganda.

CCACE works with local organizations and the community to present a variety of educational programs to the residents of Concord and Carlisle.
