GTA, ON, July 1 /CNW/ - In a world full of conflicts, over fifteen thousand special guests and delegates from across Canada and around the world will be attending the 34th Annual Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Canada from July 2nd to 4th at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Attendees will celebrate loyalty to their adopted homeland and remember those members of the community who were recently massacred in Pakistan for professing their faith. Representatives of all level of government, diplomacy, academia, professionals and various ethnic and faith groups will be attending.
Over the course of the three-day conference, presentations will highlight Islamic teachings of peace, tolerance and non-violence, as well as its requirement for Canadian Muslims to demonstrate their love and loyalty to their adopted homeland.
Speakers will reflect upon the lives of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), his companions and the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (peace be upon him), the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Speakers will also remember the victims of the recent massacre of Ahmadi Muslims on May 28, 2010 in Lahore, Pakistan, when 86 Ahmadis were killed by extremist militants who stormed two mosques and opened fire on worshippers gathered there. Delegates will commemorate the resilience, patience and faith of the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who face cruel and legislated persecution in so-called Islamic states.
"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at is known around the world for its motto Love for All - Hatred for None," said Lal Khan Malik, President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Canada. "We live by our motto each day and invite media and public to this conference to witness this phenomenon." he added. As a champion of interfaith dialogue, the community organizes over 150 interfaith symposia across Canada each year.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was established in 1889 by Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) in Qadian, India. He proclaimed himself to be the awaited Promised Messiah and Mahdi (reformer) whose advent was foretold by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), as well as the awaited reformer foretold by other great religions of the world. His stated mission was to convey to the world Islam's message of peace and love as presented in the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah (traditions) of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
