Some thirteen Ahmadi Muslims set out on Saturday, March 19th, and distributed two powerful brochures - the “Muslims for Peace” and “Muslims for Loyalty” fliers to nearly 850 people.

The event was organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association - Connecticut chapter, to show the true, peaceful face of Islam to their fellow compatriots.

The effort is part of the nationwide "Muslims for Peace" campaign sponsored by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA (AMC).

"As a result, sincere bridges of harmonious networking and promising collaborations were built," says Zahir M. Mannan, who serves as Interfaith Outreach Coordinator for AMC’s Connecticut Chapter and Youth Auxiliary Leader.

The volunteers targeted three major locations including downtown Meriden just a few miles from the Baitul Aman (House of Peace) Mosque in Meriden, Union Station in New Haven and the New Haven Green.

In an interesting coincidence at the New Haven Green, the Ahmadi Muslim Youth promoting peace and loyalty happened upon an anti-war protest organized by various interfaith and peace groups.

According to Zahir Mannan, a stimulating interaction occurred between Ahmadi Muslims and members of interfaith councils and peace committees as well as with the common folk who were part of the anti-war protest.

The volunteers handed out "Muslims for Peace" and "Muslims for Loyalty" fliers resulting in pleasant feedback.

Zahir Mannan says that smiles, gratifications and healthy discussions from the public encourages the group of young American Ahmadi Muslims to go out on such ventures more often.

“These are Muslims for peace who believe in the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, and are homegrown helpers actively working against terrorism,” Zahir Mannan said.

“A heartfelt thank you to all those who participated,” offered Zahir Mannan at the conclusion of the event. "I must say that I am humbled to be the leader of these selfless American Ahmadi Muslim Youth."
