The annual Muslim festival commemorates the month of fasting. Muslims across the world prepare for a day of thanks on Eid-ul-Fitr, the celebration that marks an end to Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

This joyous day is celebrated to remind Muslims of the importance of caring for others. As the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA prepares for its September memorial efforts honoring the 10th anniversary of 9/11, it opens its doors to everyone who would like to join or observe the Eid-ul-Fitr service, which will begin with a congregational prayer in the morning, followed by a sermon.

Event: Eid-ul-Fitr, Islam's second most important holiday, marks the end of the month of fasting. A complimentary light lunch will be served.

Program: 10:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m.
Where: Lucky Shoals Park, 4651 Britt Road, Norcross GA.

Background: Fasting during Ramadan not only fosters discipline, strength and increased focus on worship, it also inspires sympathy for the hungry and poor and encourages Muslims to donate generously to those who need it the most.

“Eid-ul-Fitr is a time of great understanding for our fellow human beings,” says Dr. Nasim Rehmatullah, Vice President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. “We are encouraged to celebrate it with the less fortunate members of our community.”

About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community:

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, fast-growing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spans 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the first American-Muslim organization.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India.

Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
