The Rochester Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will host an interfaith conference on world peace starting at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Holiday Inn Airport, 911 Brooks Ave., Gates.
Organizers are inviting people of all backgrounds to attend and discuss ways to attain world peace. The event will include several speakers of many faiths.
The Community is an international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, membership of the Community now exceeds tens of millions, according to the group.
The Community believes the messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who lived from 1835 to 1908.
The Community believes that God sent Ahmad to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and bring back a sense of morality, justice and peace, according to a news release from the group.
